WEEK 17

For this week, the student need to submit the full report that has been amend, the plagiarism report and the link for the blog to their supervisor.

The figure shows the report for the plagiarism check through the turnitin

Based on the turnitin website, the percentage of the plagiarism for the report is 16%, which is not exceed the maximum required, which is 20%.

WEEK 15 AND WEEK 16

For this week, the draft report for chapter 1, chapter 2 and chapter 3 was send to the supervisor. It was to check if the format used is correct and the content in the report is fulfil the research needed.

The figure shows the front page of the report

The reason the draft of the report was send to the supervisor was to check if the content of the report meet the information needed to do the project. If there is lacking of the information, the supervisor will asked the student to amend the report until the information fulfill the information needed for the project.

WEEK 14

For this week, the student is giving a time to finish up the proposal report to submit to their FYP supervisor. The flowchart for the project simulation has been created to show how the project work.

The flowchart show how the project simulation work. First, the sensor will detect the temperature and humidity in the imaging room and send the reading to the microcontroller. Then, Arduino uno will process the data. After the data has been process, it will send the data to the LoRa modules and the LoRa modules will transmit the data in the data log in system for the biomedical personnel to monitor the temperature and humidity reading in the imaging room.

WEEK 13

For this week, the student will have to complete their proposal report, to be submit to their fyp advisor. The design for the circuit simulation has been done by using the fritzing software.

The figure shows the circuit design for the project simulation

The design is created based on the research on the internet, based on the previous work, related on using the SX1278 and DHT11. The DHT11 is connected on the input pin of the Arduino because it will send the temperature and humidity data to the Arduino to be process. SX1278 is been connected to the output pin of the Arduino because after Arduino process the data receive from the DHT11, it will send the data to the SX1278. SX1278 will transmit the data to the data log in system to be monitor by the biomedical personnel.

WEEK 12

For this week, the FYP Proposal Defense day has been held on the 14th October 2020, through microsoft teams. The student need to present their fyp through online since it was mco during the time.

The assessor for the day were Ts. Madam Sabrina, Dr. Zuber and Mr. Kamil from Radibems. The presentation has been held for about 30 minutes. The question that has been asked during the presentation was 'what is the standard reading for the temperature and humidity for the imaging room?'. The answer would be 15% - 75% for the humidity while for the temperature, it is between 15 degree celcius - 28 degree celcius. Since the data collected by the Radibems is once for every two weeks, Dr.Zuber had suggest to coolect the reading everyday and every one hour, to have the data more precisely. Madam Sabrina asked to do more research on where the exact place in the imaging room that is suitable for the project to be place to do the simulation; either near the imaging equipment or far from the imaging equipment. Madam Sabrina also suggest to read more and do more research about the suitable sensor that will be used in the project, based on the previous work in the journal and technical paper. Madam Sabrina suggest to purchase the devices needed more early, so that the project can be simulate and know the exactly the connection for the devices. It is also good to do the project early, so that it will know how many power that will be used in this project simulation. Dr.Zuber had asked 'why it is necessary to monitor the temperature and humidity in the imaging room?'. The answer is to make sure the imaging equipment is in good condition because if the temperature and humidity reading is lower or exceed the standard range, it will probably make the imaging equipment malfunction.

WEEK 11

For this week, the students were making the preparation for the FYP Proposal Defense Day, that has been held on the 14th October 2020. On that day, students need to present their project that they will for their fyp.

WEEK 10

For this week, the third briefing has been conduct by Dr Punitha. She explained to the student on how to write the the good methodology for the report. Not only that, she also brief about the preliminary result, the expected result for the project. It is important to have the expected result, so that it can be compare with the real result when doing the simulation.

Dr Punitha also tell the tips to be a good presenter during the presentation. To be a good presenter, the person must be prepare what she or he want to present, in terms of the content of the slide presentation and also the explanation for her or his project. It is to make sure the assessor can truly understand what project that the student will be do for their final year project. The appearance during the presentation must also be pay attention too, to give the presenter more confident during the presentation. She also advised the student to always practise to do the presentation, so that the student will do their presentation smoothly.

WEEK 9

For this week, the research continue to find the suitable sensor that will be used in this project. The sensor that will be used in this project is DHT11 because it can detect both of the reading that is neede in this project, which are temperature and humidity. Below is the specification of the DHT11:

The measurement range for the temperature is between 0 until 50 degree celcius, with the temperature accuracy is about 2 degree celcius RH. That means the temperature reading by the DHT11 might be difference in about 2 degree celcius from the actual temperature in the room. The measurement range for the humidity is between 20% until 90% with 5% RH, that means the humidity reading in the room, might be slightly difference in about 5% from the actual temperature room. Both of the measurement range show that, it is the suitable temperature and humidity range that is needed in this project.

WEEK 8

For this week, the LoRa modules, SX1278 is purchased at shopee. The specification of the LoRa is been studied more, to determined either it is the suitable radio transmitter that will be used in this project. Below is the specification of the LoRa modules:

 Supply voltage = 3.3 V

 Temperature = 25° C

 fXOSC = 32 MHz

 bandwidth (BW) = 125 kHz

 Spreading Factor (SF) = 12

 Error Correction Code (EC) = 4/6

 Packet Error Rate (PER)= 1%

 CRC on payload enabled

 Output power = 13 dBm in transmission

 Payload length = 64 bytes

 Preamble Length = 12 symbols

By seeing and study the above specification, it can be conclude that, this LoRa  module is suitable to be used in this project.

WEEK 7

For this week, the second FYP1 briefing is being conducted by Dr. Noor Hidayah. She had explained to the students on how to do the chapter 1 (introduction) and chapter 2 (literature review) for the report.
The data that have been collected from Mr. Kamil last week has been analyzed. The data shown the reading that have been taken for few months, every two weeks. The temperature and humidity reading is in the range, which is the standard reading for the temperature is between 15 to 28 degree celcius and the standard reading for the humidity is between 15% to 75%.

The figure shows the data that have been collected at the real imaging room in the Hospital Selayang

By having this data, it easy to know the suitable temperature and humidity that need to be setup in the room that will be done the simulation for the project.

WEEK 6

For this week, the first meeting with the supervisor from the industry, Mr.Kamil has been done at his office, at the level 2, in the academic building. The discussion is all about the project that will be conduct for FYP. The problem that occur in the company has been collected. The problem occur that make it difficult for the staff to do their works are:
           1) The temperature and humidity is collected and recorded manually
           2)  Cannot take the real time data
           3)  There will be some day that they forget to take the reading due to many other
medical equipment that they have to take care of.
           4) There will be a lot of data that will be miss when they forget to take the reading

The explanation about the advantage of using the LoRa modules to transmit the data has been done during the meeting. Mr.Kamil also explain that the simulation might cannot be done in the real imaging due to many procedures need to be done and also due to the Covid-19 that attack the country. The place that will be take place for the simulation was suggested at the laboratory 214 in the academic building, at UniKL BMI, because there is an imaging equipment. The setup in the laboratory 214 for the simulation will be done like in the real imaging room. Mr.Kamil then gave the data that have been collected at the real imaging room for references. Mr.Kamil agreed to give any aids needed during the process for the simulation.

WEEK 5

For the fifth week, the research has been done related to the project given. This day, the monitoring system that has been done in the healthcare industries, that have the medical equipment like imaging equipment, is HVAC system, which is stand for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system. The current system need the healthcare staff to manually do the regular check up to the room that has been place the equipment, to make sure the temperature and humidity in the room is not exceed or less than its standard reading. This is to make sure that the medical equipment is in good condition because if the temperature and humidity is higher or lower the standard reading, the equipment is at risk of damage.

The research related to LoRa technology is also been done to make more understanding about the device, especially about its function. LoRa technology is a wireless radio frequency technology that is been use to transmit the data in long range, which is the data can be send in long distance, up to 8 kilometers.

Example of the LoRa modules, SX1278

The figure show the one of the LoRa module, SX1278 that will be used in the project. Its specification, fulfill the criteria for the project.

WEEK 4

For the fourth week, Dr. Hasmiza has been agreed to be the supervisor for FYP. The first meeting was been held at her office, to discuss about the FYP title research. She suggested to do the project that have engage with the industry. The company that she suggest was Radibems, the company that providing non-clinical hospital support services. The title that been given was 'Temperature and Humidity Monitoring System For Imaging Room Via LoRa Technology'. She has asked to do the research about the temperature and humidity monitoring in the industries and also do more reading related to Lora technology. She also told that, Mr.Kamil, the technical manager from the Radibems, will be the second supervisor to lead about the project.

WEEK 3

For the third week, it has been scheduled that the student who takes FYP 1 will have to attend the briefing related to 'Introduction To FYP 1'. It was compulsory to the students to join the briefing to make sure that they will not miss any important information that will be delivered by FYP coordinator, Dr. Zuhanis. In the briefing, she told the student about what student will have to do during FYP 1. She also told the student about the important dates for the student to take note so that they will miss nothing in the future.

WEEK 2

For the second week, the students were still in the progress in finding the supervisor that will guide for FYP1. Not only that, some research has been done about the project that will be propose for FYP1. But unfortunately, the project that will be propose have few limitations that is quite difficult to overcome, for example, the cost to do the project is too expensive and the devices that will be used is some will only available in other countries, which is difficult when to do the purchasing for second or third time if the devices is broken in the future.

WEEK 1

For the first week, the student had been instructed by the FYP coordinator to find their supervisor and also the title for their project for FYP 1. The students that take the courses of BET Medical Electronic, has been encouraged to do the project related to the medical field. It will not only give the benefit from the knowledge of the study, but the project will also give the benefit to medical field and will contribute it advantages to others.

WEEK 17

For this week, the student need to submit the full report that has been amend, the plagiarism report and the link for the blog to their supe...
